Amar Mehta is currently serving as an economic advisor to the State of New York. He has significant experience within the financial services and investment management industries. Mr. Mehta had been working as an investment manager, investing in public and private instruments with different investment styles and asset levels ranging up to $25 billion. He also helped establish a number of money management firms in both the United States and internationally. Mr. Mehta began his Wall Street career as a sales intern at Merrill Lynch followed by a systems analyst role at J.P. Morgan. Amar Mehta has subsequently worked at Citicorp, as a credit analyst within FIG, and at Banque Paribas in its Project Finance group. Mr. Mehta joined Oppenheimer & Co. after business school and successively moved to the buy-side. He worked at Fred Alger Management and BAM, prior to pursuing more entrepreneurial endeavors. Mr. Mehta received a B.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University, School of Engineering and Applied Science and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. Most recently, he was a faculty member for the Oxbridge Academic Programs at Columbia University, providing instruction in Math and Finance.
